About the Agency
This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS) in the New York Region, New York City Field Office (New York, NY), of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the area of Information Technology (IT) Examination Analysis.

- Assess the adequacy of Information Technology (IT) policies, procedures and practices.
- Determine if practices are within the bank's policy and in compliance with governing laws and regulations.
- Identify problems, assess the condition of banks, support findings and propose appropriate solutions.
- Meet with bank management and boards of directors and others to make recommendations regarding corrective action and deficiencies to provide support for ratings; to inform bank management of potential enforcement actions; and persuade bank management to take corrective actions recommended in the Report of Examination.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the Private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 9 level in the federal service; OR have a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level full-time graduate education leading to such a degree; or an LL.M;Major field of study must be: finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position of information technology(IT) examination analyst; OR possess a combination of both education and experience.
Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting safety and soundness or IT examinations at a financial institution; OR serving as an auditor on IT audits of security controls or policies of data centers or financial institutions; OR administering information security programs or other key data center functions.
