ABOUT THIS JOB

To work within manufacturing support to ensure the availability of technical resources for the production process to operate on time. Support continuous improvement projects to ensure that cost effective manufacturing processes are utilised, with optimal machine efficiencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with the assessment of the manufacturing process, determining plant requirements to maintain safety, quality and cost effective manufacture, eliminating non-value adding business activities/processes; implementing initiatives to improve all aspects of the process contributing to the reduction of costs and improved process flow

  • Responsible for identifying, planning and coordinating specialised tooling or gauges necessary for component manufacture, minimising production delays

  • Assist with Quality Notification and RCA process, ensuring Corrective and Preventive Actions are implemented

  • Assist with work for Value Engineering and product cost analysis projects.

  • Drive improved OEE metric improvements

  • Participate in engineering design reviews to provide manufacturing feasibility input.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with all HSE requirements and procedures.

  • Assist with the training of new team members.

  • Continuous process improvement & special projects as assigned.

  • Any Other Duties as Required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • HND qualified or equivalent

  • Experience gained in a manufacturing environment (preferably machining/designing metal components)

  • Experience of using SAP would be beneficial

  • Experience gained of working in a fast paced team and using own initiative

  • Experience gained in relation to the use of different types of materials and processes used for mechanical manufacturing

  • Experience of solving manufacturing problems in relation to the manufacture of tools, including methodology, technical specifications, complex engineering designs

  • An understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Ability to understand complex manufacturing drawings, process instructions and procedures

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

  • Knowledge of HSE and Quality compliance requirements

  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and problem solving methodologies

OTHER DETAILS

  • An understanding of the limitations and complexities of manufacturing processes.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Communication skills, such as use of communicating by electronic means, face to face and over the phone, with both internal and external parties

  • Analytical & Problem solving skills

  • Good Organisation skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team environment

  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads coupled with ability to work under pressure

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office packages

  • Ability to lead and influence small teams

  • Ability to conduct HRA would be beneficial

  • Knowledge of MS Visio would be beneficial
