Seeking a Sr. Time Based Revenue Accountant for our Alpharetta, GA location. Core skill sets include, but not limited to:

This position is responsible for the following:
Contract Revenue and Revenue Related Expense Accounting – Individual will be responsible for monthly closing procedures over Patient Access related products as part of the MHS business unit. The revenue generated from these products is transactional and time based. This role will focus on the systematic and manual processes necessary to record and reconcile these revenues and related expenses on a monthly basis within SAP. This role will also be responsible for deferred and unbilled account reconciliations to the general ledger. Annual revenue accounted for by this role is over $150M and deferred revenue managed is $9M. Position will also be responsible for working with other MTS revenue streams, finance department, and audit responsibilities.
Reporting & Analysis – ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data related to deferred revenue and open contract elements that require deferral of revenue. In addition, this person will support reporting and auditing needs related to potential separate reporting for MHS and New Co, including modification of account reconciliations. This person will also provide analysis and reporting of multiple GL accounts, as well as assistance with project work and/or ad-hoc reporting as necessary.
Operational Efficiency – Evaluation and implementation of options to increase efficiency of revenue recognition processes including implementation and evaluation of efficiency options related to multi-facility go lives
Policies & Procedures - develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures and policies to ensure proper internal control and compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including periodic control documentation updates and controls self-assessment testing.
This position regularly interacts with financial and business analysts. Travel requirement is <10%.
5+ years accounting experience
3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in Public Accounting
Excellent knowledge of GAAP, advanced knowledge of accounting policies, practices and systems
Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience (Pivot tables and vlook ups)
Communicates effectively through oral or written means
Effectively uses the time available to complete work tasks and activities that lead to the achievement of expected work objectives (as results or outputs)
Ability to analyze large amounts of data and understand results
Develops and uses collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work and business goals
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Minimum 1 ½+ years in an accounting close or revenue recognition role is highly preferred
Experience with SAP is preferred
Revenue – knowledge of and experience working in a revenue related function, and experience with revenue recognition in a software/technology environment (ASC 985-605 Revenue Recognition – Software, ASC 605-25 Multiple element arrangements, and ASC 605-35 Construction-type and production-type contracts) is preferred.
System Evaluations & Conversions – experience with evaluating systems for upgrade and/or replacement, as well as experience with converting general ledger systems is a plus.
4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
CPA track is preferred
