National Compliance is responsible for overseeing Verizon Wireless policies, processes, people and systems and partnering with business leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory and reputational risks facing the business unit. The Manager of Compliance is responsible for leading a team of professionals that evaluate transformational and business continuity changes for new and emerging risks. Partner withbusiness ownersin the design and documentation of requirements that introduce effective controls for planned business changes. Additionally, the Manager of Compliance is responsible to establish system access guidelines for enterprise applications and ensure system access meets defined requirements through routine monitoring and SOX testing.

  • Lead a team in performing risk reviews of projects to determine control gaps in systems. Prioritize resources across portfolio of systems and enhancements based upon risk to the business. Collaborate and strategize with Compliance leaders early in the development lifecycle to share emerging risks and control environment changes across the organization.


Must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Criminal Justice, Math, or Information Systems; or equivalent work experience.

  • Three or more years of experience testing Point of Sale, Billing, ecommerce, etc. applications with a concentration in operational Compliance, business controls or Finance.

  • Experience in software development life cycle, system analysis and writing business and functional specifications.

  • Experience formulating, affecting, interpreting and implementing system controls ensure a strong environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics, reporting and analytical tools to perform analyses of large datasets to identify activities that require investigation.

  • Experience leveraging auditing principles and methods to evaluate policies, processes and systems to identify business risks and control gaps.

  • Project management experience with the proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently leveraging excellent organization and time-management skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analytics and presentation.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to explain confidential and complex issues and make recommendations to leadership.

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan for and manage numerous processes and ad hoc projects simultaneously, effectively prioritize tasks and meet customer requirements for timeliness and accuracy.

  • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) preferred.

  • Telecommunications experience.
