The project manager role will support the Michigan Medicine Medical Staff Services (MSS) in ongoing initiatives to improve overall service and function. In particular, the role will act as project support for moving to an electronic credentialing format, achieving and maintaining NCQA certifications, and supporting other projects to achieve efficiency within MSS and add value for the organization.
Under general supervision, responsible for management, performance, and completion of moderate to complex projects.
Under direction from the Administrative Director and onsite Director, responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule, timelines, and milestones, to ensure timely completion of project.
Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
Oversee external communication of project work, achievements, and program materials through touchpoints with key leadership and stakeholders
Five years of project management experience
LEAN training or attend assigned LEAN training within 3 months of hire
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build consensus among a decentralized stakeholder base
Ability to analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, within the scope of job responsibilities.
Proficiency in the Windows computing environment, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Outstanding communication skills both verbally and written.
Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage competing demands and prioritize for meeting project deadlines
Great attention to detail
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Master’s Degree in health care administration, business administration or other relevant field
Credentialing and privilege experience or experience working within in a medical staff office
Experience with CACTUS from symplr® software
Knowledge of credentialing and privileging legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
