Ministry Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton currently has an opportunity for a casual Outpatient Service Rep. In this role you will need to be flexible based on department needs.
The Outpatient Services Representative acts as the principle contact for patients presenting themselves to the Outpatient Testing Department following all government rules and regulations. This individual assists customers by facilitating a smooth and efficient customer flow through all areas served by the department. This individual translates physician’s orders and enters them into the computer and has the ability to management multiple phone calls with attention to detail. Individual takes necessary steps to ensure that the highest level of customer service and satisfaction is provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Accurately orders lab, radiology, peripheral vascular, neurologic, pulmonary ad other ancillary tests following rules and regulations obtaining signatures and completing all the necessary paper work required to order ad process diagnostic tests for the pa

Possess excellent communication skills demonstrating excellent customer Service skills consistently creating a warm environment displaying empathy, greeting each customer with a smile/eye contact acknowledges and is ready to take the next patient
Assess screenings/questionnaires administering precursor preps such as contracts and tests as needed. Able to prioritize and process tests correctly working closely with the back departments to ensure optimal patient flow.
Utilizes critical thinking skills to prioritize work, clinically intervene and maintain safety for patient. Seeks to revolve any issues with customers or other departments in a positive fashion and promptly informs supervisors and areas affected.
Answers phones quickly, prioritizes and monitors patient waiting room flow, overhead pages and pocket pages physicians as required to meet customer needs.
Performs clerical functions of completing folders, orders, scanning mailings, clinical reports and routing of results to physician offices. Will start quick/short registration of a patient to establish an account number and collects consent as needed to

Concentrates efforts on department goals for the year. Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of a medical terminology, business or insurance course is preferred. Continuing education required annually One to three years of progressive clerical health care experience required. Certification by a nationally approved phlebotomy program recommended after 1 year minimum on-the-job training Accurate typing at 40 wpm and computer data entry experience.
