Current Need

Our ideal candidate has the following experience: SQL Database Administrator background, is organized and extremely detail-oriented. This individual would be regarded by peers as precise, careful, thoughtful, and responsible, and "on it". Also extremely serious about data durability and availability.

The successful candidate must demonstrate enterprise-level ability to support core SQL components and associated services in a dynamic environment.

Position Description

  • Work closely with Systems Engineers to test planned databases upgrades, including definitions, structures, and/or documentation, as well as provide input into long-range database requirements and operational guidelines

  • Typical tasks include SQL server builds, backups, database performance optimization and tuning, managing database user access.

  • Participate in a rotating 7x24 on-call rotation to respond to escalated incidents


Minimum Requirements

4+ years experience in Windows, Mainframe or UNIX systems administration

Critical Skills

  • Advanced MS SQL Database experience

  • Experience with backup/recovery

  • Disaster Recovery Experience

  • Use best operating practices to establish and maintain security and integrity controls

  • Strong performance tuning experience,

  • Scripting and writing complex queries

  • Prior experience with technical documentation

  • Experience with clustering and high availability

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Ignite or Red Gate experience is highly preferred


4-year degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
