Verizon Wireless Open Development Device Requirements Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey


Through your vision and strategy you will handle multiple complex device requirements projects that involve key Verizon Wireless device and service launches. You will drive solutions to ensure new technologies are consistently ported across devices, working with device vendors, application developers, technology vendors and Verizon network teams. The work you’ll do every single day impacts people’s lives, work and play.

  • Drive and Lead large cross functional teams to generate service descriptions, use cases, technical feasibility analysis to develop technology device requirements and compliance test plans.

  • Develop and manage new device requirements to support new applications, services, and network enhancements offered to Verizon Wireless customers.

  • Work with the User Experience team to support developing a common user experience across all applications offered within the devices.

  • Handle reviews for device requirements and compliance test plans across cross-functional teams.

  • Identify action items during reviews and driving them to closure.

  • Support and provide feedback to all other device requirements and test plan reviews.

  • Manage the testing devices, fixes, new services and products that the team is supporting.

  • Support the planned quarterly releases of device requirements and test plans, generation of the compliance packages.

  • Handle the administration of the device requirements portal and the requirement management tools.

  • Manage access for device documents for internal employees and external vendors.

  • Improve the existing tools used for retail device development.


Must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Ideally you’ll also have:

  • A Master’s degree. Even better if you have your MBA.

  • Five or more years of experience with product development.

  • Three or more years Wireless/Telecommunications/Internet experience.

  • Four or more years experience with CDMA, GSM, LTE technology and device technologies.

  • Experience across major mobile software platforms (Android, Windows, Blackberry, iOS).

  • Expertise in project management tools and techniques.

  • Experience with application development with the latest web technologies and IT backend systems.

  • Demonstrated track record in process execution, development, and deployment of products and new technologies.

  • Critical thinking, decision-making and leadership aptitudes and excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and communicate highly complex technical information.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
