Verizon Wireless Supply Chain Systems Lead in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
Provide critical support and direction of the systems in support of the Supply Chain inventory planning and consumer fulfillment. System support will include a deep-knowledge of inventory management, forecasting and planning processes, working with IT partners on enhancements, changes and fixes for interactions with the Planning applications in addition to providing day-to-day support functions of the Logility, Baxter, APO and JDA environment.
Maintains on-going interaction with internal client groups and other functional areas relating to objectives, deliverables and related matters within Supply Chain systems and processes. Interacts with supply chain clients to anticipate systems needs and requirements. Requires deep understanding of supply chain business processes. Position will work closely with the internal client groups of Supply Chain to understand present and to-be business processes to facilitate compatible short- and long-term system solutions.
Manage implementation of upgrades, service packs, fixes, enhancements and process changes by coordinating and conducting testing with IT and end users to ensure applications are functioning as designed. Ensure change control is implemented in accordance with established Change Control Procedures set forth by Verizon IT.
Assists Supply Chain team and business partners in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving problems related to systems processes, data reporting, software and/or hardware and resolution documentation. This position investigates problems to determine root cause - change in business process/data input, interfacing system changes, recent bug/code fixes - of the issue at hand. This position then defines the fix/solution, works with the technical team on design, validates the design and performs end to end testing of the solution. This requires a deep technical understanding of the applications and business processes supported.
Process/Application Project Management:
Manages and supports multiple, inter-related system interfaces and functions. This position coordinates efforts with Supply Chain Planning, VZW Device Marketing, Logistics Operations, external partner groups and others to identify, design, implement and support solutions.This position is responsible for ensuring end to end systems solutions meet the needs of the business, which requires a thorough understanding of multiple planning support tools .and inventory management processes. This position manages with minimal supervision.
Bridges communication among technical and non-technical project staff and clients. This position possesses a deep technical and functional expertise of the areas supported. When the business unit requests a new program, process or enhancement, this position is required to gather and document business requirements, document process flows to support the business requirements, develop functional specifications, communicate the solution design/requirements to both on-shore and off-shore IT teams, develop and execute test cases to be used for UAT utilizing HPALM and facilitate UAT activities with end users/testers and coordinate the implementation of the solution with the requesting party and other impacted users.
Facilitate user training acceptance with end users prior to deploying fixes and enhancements to production ensuring changes are working as expected. This position may also be required to develop and deliver training on solution, depending on scope of the solution.

WORK COMPLEXITY AND IMPACT TO BUSINESS
The Supply Chain subject matter expert (SME) works to develop complex solutions to complex business requirements. The majority of the SMEs day is spent on working issues that business super users cannot resolve. Additionally, the SME knows the intricacies of the systems supported and aids in the development of functional specs for new project and solution launches.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY AND AUTONOMY
Manager/Supervisor sets priority of work for this position when multiple projects and/or problems arise at the same time (typically post project or software release). Manager/Supervisor will also coach when assistance is needed diagnosing complex issues. However this position is typically the subject matter expert in the system/process in which he/she works and has decision making authority on implementation solutions for the SC system he/she owns. System analyst will provide critical input for decisions on features/changes of the SC system and will triage open defects and determines the level of effort.
