Broadreach Family & Community Services is a private, nonprofit agency nurturing children and families in mid-coast Maine since 1983. Broadreach is the backbone organization for a new initiative, Community Partnerships for Protecting Children (CPPC.)

CPPC's mission is: "Together, we keep children and their families safe, engaged and thriving."

Broadreach has an immediate opening for a full time Parent Partner. As a Parent Partner, you will use a Peer Support Model in working with families, to increase child safety and decrease family stressors.

The Parent Partner, who will be based in Rockland, must be a parent who has previously been involved in, and successfully navigated the child welfare system.

Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:

A Parent Partner must have previously lost custody of their child(ren) to DHHS, and gained back custody. They must have been successfully reunified for a period of at least six (6) months.

A Parent Partner must have a minimum of one year clean and sober, if addiction/substance abuse was a presenting issue in their previous child welfare experience.

Experience working in a Human Services setting with families in a supportive role (preferred).

Experience working with people of diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituencies, including parents, children, regulatory agencies, and the community at large.

Above average communication skills, writing skills and presentation skills.

Good judgment and decision making and problem solving skills.

Education Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record to transport clients.

Training requirements.
