We are seeking a talented Senior Buyer/Planner to be located in Belmont, NH, who possesses a strong commitment to work, thrives in a busy challenging, team-oriented environment, to join our Test & Inspection Division. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the planning, scheduling, procurement and expediting, of raw materials and finished goods, to meet the master schedule and customer order requirements. Utilize best procurement practices, including managing the supplier to ensure optimal pricing, while meeting the department’s goals for cost reduction, quality improvement, on-time delivery, inventory management and lead time reduction.


  • Complete ownership of the procurement process to include creating requisitions, ensuring on-time delivery of required materials and including, but not limited to, ordering, expediting, and returns

  • Plan material needs for production and facility

  • Responsible for the full planning and buying for assigned commodities and or suppliers to achieve maximum supplier performance. Utilize ERP and planning tools, analyze inventory order patterns and sales data to provide input for strategic purchasing decisions.

  • Prepare and execute the production schedule. Monitor and communicate supplier performance for delivery, quality, cost management and other measurements as defined. Work with Material Handlers to ensure that production kits are underway and completed

  • Work closely with Quality and Manufacturing to monitor and correct all supplier non-conformance issues

  • Work with Sales to confirm customer delivery dates and that unit is available as promised. Track and maintain on-time delivery to customer. Work closely with shipping to ensure plan is met. Create shipping schedule.

  • Focus on timely delivery at the most economical cost while maintaining a steady flow of materials without shortages utilizing the ERP system and other necessary information

  • Conduct inventory analysis and management to meet established business goals

  • Research possible sources/suppliers for requested items, provide alternatives or substitutions when applicable and assist internal requesters with select requirements

  • Research and resolve billing and delivery discrepancies

  • Regularly maintain and update supplier database, including contact information, purchase price and lead times

  • Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement

  • Work with Engineering to establish manufacturers of needed components

  • Effectively monitor supplier quality, delivery, and cost issues and take action when necessary

  • Resolve technical and pricing issues and ensure predetermined schedules are met


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree or APICS certification desired

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing

  • 3+ years of ERP/MRP software experience, preferably Oracle

  • International experience desired

  • Production Scheduling experience desired

  • Must be able to work independently and effectively coordinate multiple tasks and changing priorities/interruptions
