RCN Becocom LLC TAC Operator 1 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
The TAC Agent is related to personnel that staff a Network Operations Center 24 Hrs a day, 7 Days a week. The position requires the agent to monitor, Triage and, if necessary, escalate to resolve critical network outages across the entire RCN Network. Additionally, the TAC agent provides Tier III support to the Customer Service Department and Field Customer Service Technicians and Sub-Contractors within the company for both Commercial and Residential lines of Business.
Monitor the network and troubleshoot network equipment elements, such as: circuit and packet switching, Frame Relay, T1, T3, SONET equipment, fiber multiplexers, optical equipment, routers and customer premise devices**
Work with Field Engineers and System Maintenance Technicians**
Be a point of contact for other Network Operations Centers**
Work with Internet operations and support systems**
Work with voice switching and data network environment**
Act as a liaison to provide a high level Internal and External Customer Satisfaction**
Other duties as assigned**
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Prior experience with network management procedures in a Service Provider's Network Operating Center (NOC) or an equipment maintenance department.
Experience or knowledge of Internet operations and support systems
Experience in a voice switching or data networking environment
Years of Relevant Experience: 1+
Cisco/Juniper Router Switches, Aggregation Services Routers, UBR's, as well as Telecom Switches manufactured by Northern Telecom, Metaswitch, and Video Devices manufactured by companies such as Motorola, Pace, Arris, TiVo; such as Digital Addressable Controllers (DAC), and other related gear associated with delivering Video and Telecommunication Services.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general tasks with Windows.
Familiarity, training or related experience with Network Management systems, such as Netcool Network Management Systems (NMS).
Ability to accommodate irregular scheduling to support business operations when required.
