We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager to join our Salisbury Electrical Supply business based in Bolingbrook, IL.
Job Responsibilities: * Provide product marketing support for existing Electrical Safety product line, as well as, the development of product enhancements and new product developments which affect existing product lines. Foster sales and service growth via training materials, technical bulletins, sales tools and other means, as necessary. * Be the market expert for industry trends, business drivers and competitive forces in the target markets (Industrial, Utilities, and Commercial). Routinely capture competitive and market data for the related products and segments in order to report on market opportunities and emerging standards and technologies for future exploitation. Utilize the market intelligence to determine product line gaps and initiate new product development opportunities. * Create Product Development Plans (PDP) for new products; capture Voice of the Customer (VOC) market data, support the development of business plans for strategic projects associated with new products, cost reductions and other growth initiatives. * Supervise the progress of allocated R & D projects with the Project Leader; provide market led input to the product design and timeline in the early phases of the product development. * Facilitate teamwork across multiple departments in order to meet the agreed timeline for new product introductions. This position requires continuous partnership with Sales, Vendors, Distribution Customers, Engineering, Operations and Customer Service. * Develop and execute strategic plans for channel growth. Target, negotiate, initiate and evaluate marketing programs and promotional opportunities to maximize sales and profitability. Partner with Marketing Communications to create associated channel marketing materials (e.g. distributor catalog blocks, ads, promotional flyers, end cap displays, online training, webinars, e-blast, newsletter, video messaging and message on hold announcements). * Develop training tools & campaigns for the sales team that focus on the product strengths in key applications that meet the end users' requirements. * Coordinate with the Marketing Communications department on the development of all product launch materials to deliver a comprehensive sales support and communications campaign. Develop an annual communications plan with the Marketing Leader for all associated product lines. * Review on a monthly basis unit and revenue based sales for all associated product lines. Accurately participate and maintain product line forecasts. Assess and report achievable margin and pricing for all product lines on a quarterly basis. Define with the Marketing Leader pricing & rationalization strategies on an annual basis and execute & communicate progress effectively with the wider management team. * Identify and champion customer requirements for new applications, technical issues, certifications and other requirements as needed by the business.
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * A minimum of 3 years of experience in product marketing, development, and/or project management. Additional Qualifications: * MBA strongly preferred
