Robert Half Accountemps Payroll Administrator in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Accountemps is seeking a Payroll Administrator to take charge of all duties dealing with the processing of weekly payroll. This Payroll Administrator position is a long term temporary-to-fulltime opportunity based out of Boston, Massachusetts. Major responsibilities: - Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments - Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes - Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads - Perform review and verification of source documents - Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed - Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages - Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll - Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies - Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence - Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data Our client is looking to fill this position ASAP.   • Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
  • Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
  • Knowledge of internal controls
  • Payroll experience
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
  • Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
