Job Purpose

The Supervisor, Competitive Intel is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of the Competitive Intelligence Team. Responsibilities include collecting competitive price information, gathering information on the market landscape, industry trends, competitive actions, and competitor profiles to develop and deliver insightful context on the company's competitive position, strategy, capability gaps, and support for appropriate competitive actions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, mentor, and advise the Competitive Intelligence team members with daily workflow, priorities, responsibilities, projects, and tasks while measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy of the work assigned.

  • Serve as the representative for Competitive Intelligence to external Competitive Price Intelligence (CPI) vendors, and to internal departments including Pricing, Omni-Channel, Merchandising, Marketing, Inventory Management, and Logistics.

  • Serve as subject matter expert and trainer for the CPI webscraping software solutions related to configuration of business rules, record submission, data validation, data extraction, reporting, and maintenance.

  • Utilize experience and knowledge of merchandise, industry, and customer needs to identify sources of competitive risks.

  • Manage, extract, and analyze information, context, and insights related to research of competitive landscape.

  • Summarize and communicate Competitive Intelligence research findings and insights. Provide support based on those findings to enable key stakeholders across the company to more effectively and efficiently formulate strategy, architect solutions, and prioritize market opportunities to drive revenue growth.

  • Develop, document, implement, train, and improve the team's policies, procedures, and controls as needed.

Education and Experience

Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience. Experience in competitive research, market analysis, merchandising, or retail operations preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
