Sandvik seeks an experienced full time Taxation Specialist toassist with tax compliance, tax advisory and ad hoc tax related projects in the division to ensure timely and accurate compliance with regulatory Authorities and the provision of information and advice to internal and external stakeholders. This role will be based at our Milton Office.
Core focus areas of this Taxation Accountant role include:
To assist with the completion of all tax related compliance obligations including income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax, customs and stamp duties.
To assist with the Tax Effect Accounting requirements for various legal entities.
To assist with transfer pricing compliance including preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
To assist with the completion of tax risk and policy frameworks and the implementation of process improvements.
Undertake ad hoc research in relation to the abovementioned taxes.
To assist with day to day questions from the business in relation to the abovementioned taxes.
To assist with responses to be provided to relevant Tax Authorities as part of tax reviews and audits.
Key performance areas
Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies.
Preparation of each entity’s income tax calculations and tax effect accounting calculations and proofs.
Preparation of the International Dealings Schedule for the relevant Group entities and related documentation.
Preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements, including the calculation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) payments and refunds, Payroll Tax Returns, Withholding Tax calculations, Company Income Tax Instalments and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) instalments.
Undertake ad hoc tax technical research in relation to the general tax position of the group and identify tax law changes relevant to the group.
Undertake technical research and respond to day to day questions from the business in relation to all taxes.
You will have completed a Bachelor of Commerce/Business (and a Bachelor of Laws – optional) or equivalent in another jurisdiction and have a minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a Tax consultant and/or Tax accountant role. You will also have completed yourASCPA or CA or equivalent.To be successful in this role you should demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and communicate effectively both verbally and in written form. You should also be a self-starter who can be relied upon to work autonomously when required.
It is required that you will have an up to date understanding of taxation related laws, in particular a strong understanding of transfer pricing principles is required. You should havethe practical ability to translate this into your compliance and advisory projects undertaken in the role. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Lotus notes is desirable.
