Current Need

McKesson is seeking a Data Governance Lead to join their team in Carrollton, TX.

Position Description

The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for the investigation and documentation of end-to-end business processes, establishing business rules and enforcing data governance across all Vistex business units. They will also review system attributes to establish standards for data elements and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary for Master Data. Additionally, this candidate will coordinate with MDM data management analysts to ensure governance standards are implemented during the lifecycle of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer MDM governance policies and associated entitlements

  • Lead analysis of system attributes and data elements. Recommend and establish data standards

  • Serve as the lead data steward for data standards and governance

  • Partner with project teams to integrate governance practices as part of new project lifecycle

  • Develop data stewardship program policies, procedures and decision making workflows


Minimum Requirements

3+ years data management experience and 1+ years of management experience

Critical Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of data management policies, procedures and systems, excellent organizational skills, communication skills and demonstrated leadership skills

  • 2+ years of experience with SAP/Vistex; establishing data governance rules/policy

  • Intermediate to advanced level experience with MS Access (table comparisons), Excel (v-look ups, pivot tables, charts, and graphs), PowerPoint , Word

  • 2+years experience with end to end business process documentation and SOP’s

  • 2+years of experience in project management (participating in 3-5 projects at any one given time) and or process improvement

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong communication skills, including presentation

  • Strong analytical skills researching issues and analyze data anomalies and root causes

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Effective at documenting and presenting recommendations to management and to audiences ranging from 10-15


4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
