Robert Half Management Resources is partnering with a newly created private investment firm located in Charlottesville, VA. This growing firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to help with the accounting, financial and tax functions of the multigenerational family office. This position handles various aspects of accounting for the organization and will be a key member of the team. Primary responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include but are not limited to:
Prepares month end closing entries and assistance with monthly financial statements
Reconciles and maintains general ledger accounts and prepares monthly bank reconciliations
Maintains depreciation schedules and ensures the proper recording of additions and disposals
Assists with budget and daily deposits
Responsible for full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
Assist with preparing simple tax returns, including individual, S Corporation, Partnership, Corporation, Trust and non-profits.
Assist with preparing personal and business quarterly and year-end tax projections.
Responds to tax notices of any sort and drafts required responses
Research tax issues and provide documentation and support for conclusions (as needed)
Prepares business personal property tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and other local and state returns as needed
Completes other assignments and projects as required

Requirements: Required Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance or equivalent experience
Possess a strong understanding of accounting principles
3+ years' experience in an accounting department or public accounting firm and tax preparation experience
Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office Word & Excel), accounting (QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions) and tax software (Prosystems fx) with demonstrated proficiency at the intermediate-level
Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
