Implementations Consultant/Project Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION: Acts independently to manage highly complex new client and existing client project delivery, serving as functional experts around Vantiv and vendor platforms as well as supply industry knowledge on Debit Issuer, Credit Issuer or Merchant Acquirer processing.


  • Successfully complete (in a primary leadership role) multiple new client implementations or existing client projects as required by the specific team/role.

  • Duties include, but are not limited to, frequent client interaction, completion of customer correspondence and implementation schedules, completion of required paperwork, and management of critical path

  • Ensures end to end success in the implementation of the project for the client. Escalates appropriate conversion-related issues to next level of management.

  • Performs on-site implementation support as required including: activation of any hardware devices (e.g., ATM/POS/CRT), assists in the receipt and analysis of reports, and the reconciliation and balancing process.

  • Develops project schedules, target dates, and timelines associated with all implementation activities in conjunction with customer and Technology Specialists.

  • Coordinates necessary IT development with Technology Specialists

  • Performs post-conversion analysis, problem determination and resolution, and other customer support and consulting as required.

  • Conducts gap analysis with products services offered and truly required by customer and refers additional sales opportunities back to the appropriate salesperson.

  • Ensures client has knowledge necessary to successfully manage and grow their business with Vantiv subsequent to their implementation

  • Assists with new national/regional network reconciliation and establishment or procedures for same.

  • Contributes to the writing and maintenance of applicable product implementation definition and customer documentation as required.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.


  • Ability to use professional expertise, company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

  • Using Project Management Concepts; over-sight of all assigned implementations and partner engagements

  • Understanding of the processing or acquiring industry; internal and external to Vantiv.

  • Understands functionality of applicable Vantiv Ecommerce and/or vendor platform, and payment processing as a whole.

  • Can discuss and present payment processing concepts with customers, partners and prospects.

  • Successfully completes multiple implementations.


  • Works on implementations and projects of limited to highly complex scope, depending upon level of role.

  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

  • Builds stable working relationships internally.

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Based upon level of role, will require at least 3-5 years of project management and/or industry experience, preferably both.

  • Experience with Microsoft office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is necessary.

  • Strong customer service skills, project management experience and problem solving/analytical skills highly desired.
