Finance Director

Position Summary

  • Develops and implements accounting policies and operations of accounting systems, budgeting and financial report preparation.

  • Directs accounting operations, which include providing guidance over proper application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounting for non-routine transactions and managing the workflow of an accounting staff to meet established deadlines and adherence to controls.

  • Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related degree with 24 semester hours in accounting. (Anyone hired before Aug. 1, 2008, in an accounting position only requires 21 semester hours of accounting.)

Required Work Experience

  • Ten-plus years of accounting experience, including either three years of supervisory/management experience, OR

  • Three years of equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.


  • In-depth understanding of the Model Audit Rule and Statutory Financial reporting.

  • Prior financial planning and analysis experience, to include budgeting and forecasting.
