Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice.Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk.Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others.
This position is part of the CCB Risk Analytics organization within Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management. Our mission is to make better customer-level risk decisions through the use of data from across all of the Retail and Wholesale customer bases within the Consumer & Community Bank and the Commercial Bank
Senior Consumer Risk Data Analysts on the Data Infrastructure & Engineering team are responsible for identifying relevant data elements, running analysis to transform and enrich the data, and constructing optimally designed data products to be used in analysis and/or operational risk decisions. The candidate must exhibit a thorough understanding of data structures, data manipulation, and data quality management. In addition, the candidate must have a solid understanding of CCB businesses, functions, systems, data environments, and processes that are necessary for the production and utilization of customer data.
The candidate must have the ability to partner with stakeholders inside and outside of the department to understand their needs and design and develop robust analytical data solutions that meet and/or exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will possess JPM institutional data and system knowledge, technical skills, an understanding of data science, and a commitment to producing high quality results.
Degree in a quantitative field: Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Computing and Information Theory, Industrial / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
7 years of experience in risk data management, business analysis, or business reporting
A strong desire to learn how performance is measured across the various businesses we support
Expert in SQL, Unix, and at least one of: SAS, R, Hive, SparkSQL, Sqoop, or other query languages
Experience in SQL tuning, data validation, ETL process as well as logical, physical, and semantic data modeling
Experience working in large-scale corporate data environments resolving inconsistencies and challenges in the data
Experience working with enterprise databases such as Oracle, DB2 and Teradata
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and be comfortable manipulating and summarizing large quantities of data
Expert knowledge of the business lending lifecycle
Ability to work effectively and gain credibility and respect of key partners both inside and outside of the organization
Ability to lead and persuade others while positively influencing the outcome of team efforts
Powerful communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees.
Be known for providing creative thought leadership while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision
Strong knowledge of the related regulatory environments
Knowledge of Chase IT tools such as ITSM and DM are a plus
