Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB)serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice.Consumer & Community Banking Risk Managementpartners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk.Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others.

The CCB Risk Mortgage Credit Forecasting VP will be involved in analysis and reporting associated with all aspects of loan losses including internal and external drivers of delinquency and losses. This will be a key position in the loss forecasting group responsible for providing senior management with key mortgage portfolio risk analysis and financial reporting. This position will not only interact with technical resources to help structure data in an optimum fashion for analysis, but they will also be looked upon to help the other analysts gain a better understanding of the entire mortgage business end to end process.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing analytical /quantitative analysis to identify credit risk issues impacting the portfolio

  • Recommend interim and permanent corrective actions to mitigate identified risks

  • Identifying and segmenting key risk drivers of the portfolio

  • Assessing the impact of external economic variables on credit performance and credit quality mix of portfolio

  • Producing reports summarizing portfolio credit performance; identifying adverse credit quality trends across origination vintages; and profiling different segments of the portfolio

  • Preparing comprehensive overviews of portfolio performance

  • Effectively communicating results from empirical analysis to senior management

  • Provide information to management by assembling, interpreting and summarizing data, preparing reports, making presentations of findings, along with analyses and recommendations.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports explaining the performance of the portfolio

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated achievement in risk management, financial or portfolio analysis

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of mortgage banking or related industry experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required

  • Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills and be flexible, a self starter, able to solve problems, develop solutions, multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills are required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization is required with the ability to storyboard along with the ability to defend storyboard position

  • Knowledge of the mortgage lending lifecycle, including origination, sale/servicing, default management/loss mitigation
