The Business Development Director is expected to be well connected and to be capable of identifying, pursing and winning strategic and tactical new business opportunities. This person will be able to use his/her current depth of knowledge of traditional, digital and offline marketing and technology, along with a swiftly-acquired knowledge of agency history, case studies, current business and strategic direction.This position will report to the Chief Digital Officer and will have close working relationships and support from the Chief Relationship Officer, as well as planning, buying and digital leads in the agency.Responsibilities: Media liaison that will articulate strategy, rationale and defend a well thought out media plan Research, strategize and build media recommendations for potential clients Provide POVs, create RFPs and contribute to media briefs Coordinate internal resources within office and cross-office to develop client proposals Advise and execute go-to market plans for product launches Define new business processes, and help manage that process in conjunction with Chief Digital Officer Assist in strategic framework, capabilities presentations and other marketing materials Leveraging existing partnerships and developing new ones Follow up on new business leads and identifying organic growth opportunities Qualities Needed: A deep and progressive perspective on media: must understand the old and new world of media (all its channels). Has either worked in media on the agency or client side, or has worked at a media/digital company. Drive towards data: this is a person who appreciates the quantitative side of measuring customer engagement as much as the conceptual. They must have the ability and business acumen to create metrics to measure ROI. A conceptual thinker: must be a thinker who is able to work alongside the strategic planning group to inspire brilliant creative thinking. This person is consumer focused and has the ability to convey their ideas in a way that is compelling and captivating. A creative muse: driven by ideas. Must understand how to excite and motivate across all departments. An integrator: a leader with the ability to persuade and collaborate both internally and externally. Experience servicing clients: must be someone who has experience thriving in a service- driven culture. 10+ years on the agency or marketing side with a substantial part of their experience in or around media
