Junior Buyer opportunity due to expansion with an industry leader in Delta. This permanent full time position is responsible for the sourcing and buying of materials in alignment with the strategy of the organization. Primary responsibilities include creating, monitoring, and updating purchase orders; communicating and collaborating with various departments to understand their needs; ensuring materials are received and distributed to support operations; performing vendor analysis and monitoring performance; and negotiating price and delivery of materials. Other duties will include determining the most cost effective manner of fulfilling the purchasing requirements of the business; ensuring all purchases have the appropriate level of authorization prior to a commitment to purchase; develop supplier base to improve on-time delivery, cost and quality; ensuring invoicing is correct; and building relationships with vendors.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have 3 plus years as a Purchaser or Buyer ideally in the manufacturing and or distribution and or food industry; a university and/or college degree in supply chain and or operations and or a PMAC or APICS designation or pursuing. To be considered for this role, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with vendors; ERP experience and advanced Excel; be detailed and organized; and excellent time management skills. In addition this role requires a keen attention to detail, a proven track record in finding efficiencies and strong negotiation skills.
