Position Description:

In this high profile role, the Senior Territory Manager will be responsible for calling on Dermatologists promoting Dermatology portfolio of products and services in the Territory. Primary role is to drive sales and expand product market share for the assigned geography. The Senior Territory Manager identifies, in conjunction with other Allergan medical franchises, business opportunities where Allergan can expand their competitive advantage with key medical practices. Develops a comprehensive territory specific business plan that includes strategies and tactics aimed at achieving annual sales goals. Successfully completes all company training classes; develops and maintains a current knowledge base of Company and competitive products, disease states and sales techniques. Targets and develops strong relationships by understanding each customer's needs, goals, prescribing habits and competitive product standing. Identifies and develops new business opportunities within assigned territory. Travels throughout assigned territory to promote company products within approved label in a comprehensive, fair, balanced and ethical manner that is consistent with legal and regulatory guidelines. Maintains current territory records and post call notes and submits required reports and correspondence within prescribed deadlines. Maintains call and activity averages which conform to standards established by sales management. Maintains sound sampling procedures with assigned territory. Adheres to assigned operating budget and accounts for all funds, materials and equipment. Effectively implements and completes assigned developmental projects.

Sales Performance

Attains or exceeds assigned territory sales goals defined in terms of sales (TRx volume growth) consistent with the approved marketing plan objectives.

Territory Selling

Demonstrates effective clinical selling and account management skills (implements account management strategy through programs, fulfillment resources and managed care pull through across multiple influencers). Applies selling principles in an effective and professional manner to develop partnerships with decision makers and therapeutic opinion influencers. Holds customers accountable to commitments, builds loyal relationships, motivates customers to become product advocates. Fosters relationships with identified speakers, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and VIP customers in the sales territory.

Productive and Efficient Territory Management

Able to consistently attain assigned quota goals and meet customer contact objectives across product portfolio. Demonstrates ability to assess territory metrics to develop and implement territory business plans in a goal-based environment. Allocates and manages resources effectively across territory customer base. Able to balance workload exbibiting sound organizational skills. Complies with corporate and legal requirements for sampling, storage, distribution and tracking.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or higher required

  • 3+ years Documented, Proven Track Record of Sales Success utilizing strong consultative and persuasive selling skills

  • Prior Pharmaceutical Sales Experience within multi specialties

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Proven ability to develop key sales strategies and business plans and to execute those plans to achieve desired sales results.

  • Strong negotiating and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to travel overnight.

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
