General Summary:Responsible for proper implementation and performance of reprocessing program. Performs stocking and custodial duties. Works rotating shifts as necessary. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Demonstrates ability to perform automated reprocessing. B. Demonstrates ability to perform manual reprocessing. C. Maintains reprocessing records. D. Performs dialyzer labeling. E. Maintains physical appearance of dialyzer. F. Maintains storage. G. Follows universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations and MSDS information sheets. H. Demonstrates flexibility in work situation and functions as part of a multidisciplinary team. I. Demonstrates ability to plan work activities. J. Treats patients and families with respect and dignity. K. Demonstrates acceptance of constructive criticism and direction from supervisors. L. Maintains neat clean and safe work area, which includes ancillary equipment. M. Demonstrates technical and task-orientated skills and follows operational activities specific to assigned unit.N. Demonstrates professional approach to job. O. Demonstrates ability to minimize waste in assigned unit. P. Demonstrates understanding of reprocessing principles. Q. Demonstrates ability to prepare blood samples for shipment. R. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding in regard to the preparation, labeling cleaning/disinfecting and storage of bicarbonate and acid systems. S. Assists clinical staff as needed in treatment area, (e.g. holding needle sites, transporting, assist with weighing, etc). T. Performs water testing as required. U. Disinfects machine as required (date and time of disinfection if applicable). V. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Requires high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
