We have a downtown multi-national, publicly traded client that is looking for an interim senior accountant to be responsible for the following:

  • Month end and quarter end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.

  • Ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact and operating effectively.

  • Prepare journals entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with US GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met.

  • Prepare and maintain reports and schedules for management, prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.

  • Research and document company position on technical accounting issues with the ability to effectively communicate and present to business partners.

  • Support compliance and improve processes and internal controls in area of responsibility.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA or CPA designation and 3-5 years minimum work experience strongly preferred.

  • 3-5 years of public practice experience, Big 4 experience would be an asset.

  • Experience in US GAAP

  • Experience with large ERP packages – SAP, Oracle, and other preferred.

  • Experience working for or auditing large publicly traded companies.

  • Ability to interpret and present technical accounting details in lay terms to non-technical finance and other business partners.

  • Public accounting or large public company experience strongly preferred. Software industry experience a plus.

  • Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective processes improvements

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Background in understanding and applying software revenue accounting literature an asset.
