VA Roseburg Healthcare System is recruiting for two board certified/board eligible gastroenterologist to provide outpatient services. Physician selected will be devoted to providing quality patient care in disorders of the GI tract and liver. This position is located in Medicine Service and the incumbent will be performing procedures, conducting outpatient clinics, and performing inpatient consults. Incumbent will be seeing approximately 14 patients per day for ambulatory care endoscopic procedures and/or 15 patients a day in a clinical setting. On average there are one to two inpatient consultations per day. Part of the time will be spent on indirect patient care activities such as writing notes, returning phone calls, reviewing and signing notes, reviewing and renewing prescriptions, and reviewing laboratory and imaging data for both outpatient endoscopy and GI clinics. Candidate must be computer literate as we utilize a computerized patient medical record. Computers skills require moderate typing skills necessary to complete medical history and physicals, entering progress notes, consults, prescriptions, lab and x-ray orders, and ability to navigate an electronic medical record to check reports on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness, locate and approve patient results via electronic signature, and reviewing patient information located in the computerized patient record system. Incumbent may be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical and education administrative committees, task groups, or special projects, and quality management/quality of care responsibilities.
