Northrop Grumman is seeking a Social Media representative reporting to the Digital Communications Manager. This position will be located in Falls Church, Virginia.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement, evaluate and refine Northrop Grumman’s enterprise social strategy and program including:

  • Serve as social media brand ambassador, project manager, and subject matter expert to lead cross-sector team; ensure projects are within cost and schedule

  • Work closely with two advertising agency’s digital team on social media efforts for both Corporate Communications and recruitment marketing

  • Manage an editorial calendar utilized by key partners within the enterprise and advertising agencies

  • Recognize, assess, and implement when appropriate, new social trends that will enable Northrop Grumman to become a leader in social and branding; benchmark progress against leading companies

  • Collaborate with agencies to evaluate social media metrics to determine return on investment/engagement and adjust campaigns as needed; Conduct, assess and share quarterly online reports

  • Provide ongoing strategic guidance and creative insight to ensure Northrop Grumman’s social channels are reaching the right audiences in engaging ways

  • Ensure all social media efforts are aligned with the overall goals of Corporate Communications and the Talent Acquisition department

  • Coordinate planning of paid social media campaigns with internal partners; Communicate campaign requirement with agencies

  • Social media training content and process owner; ensure materials are up-to-date and determine/develop future trainings

  • Establish strong partnerships with key stakeholders to drive program support and engagement; collaborate with partners internally and at agencies

General Responsibilities:

  • Review and post final advertising campaign content created by agencies for all platforms to include: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube;

  • Monitor, listen and respond to comments, posts, and questions on a daily basis, on all channels

  • Identify potential issues and emerging opportunities for social channels

  • Deliver briefings to Digital Communications Manager

  • Use critical thinking and analytical skills to creatively solve problems

  • Adhere to tight timeframes and work independently to resolve problems

  • Work as a team with Digital Marketing Specialists to ensure the best outcome

  • Apply knowledge of principles of Social Media and SEO/SEM to branding campaigns

  • Responsible for analytic reporting of social channels to include qualitative and quantitative assessments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, English or related field and a minimum of 3 years of communications, public relations, marketing, or other related discipline or master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, English or related field and a minimum of 1 year of communications, public relations, marketing, or other related discipline.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and blogging sites)

  • Expert in social media metrics, campaign performance analytics, and optimization tactics across every major network

  • Knowledge of audience identification, segmentation and targeting techniques

  • Must understand SEO principals

  • Working knowledge of/experience with content strategy and content management

  • Strong analytic skills required

  • Expert in Internet culture and digital trends

  • Demonstrated success at engaging, interacting and managing relationships at all levels

  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills

  • Proven ability to influence without authority and make informed decisions through effective analysis of quantitative and qualitative data

  • Ability to build consensus, drive action, and produce desired outcomes within cost and schedule

  • Proven project management, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, in addition to having the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated experience with handling negative online interactions or crisis situations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous account services/brand marketing role at marketing agency or company

  • Proficiency with social media management systems such as Hootsuite, Sprinklr, and Sprout Social

  • Proficiency with web content management system and/or Adobe Photoshop

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and Adobe Creative suite (Google Analytics Certifications preferred)

  • Prefer working knowledge of data visualization tools (i.e. R or Python)
