Vantiv Production Control Analyst in Florence, Kentucky
Oversees various production and test job schedules via automated scheduling systems. All failures or jobs flagging late would be reviewed and either addressed by the Production Control staff or callouts to the programmers or customers to address. In addition an incident ticket would also be created for each incident. Maintains, monitors and records service level agreement times when those specific jobs have completed and use turnover documents to record any job failures associated with current day schedules and escalates to internal or external customers. Monitors system performance and escalates problems to appropriate support groups. Monitors various file transfer types and is alerted to file transfer timeouts or failures to be addressed. Refer to documented processes on how to address errors and at times place calls out to the File Transfer support personnel. Participate in the Disaster recovery test each year with various applications company wide. Receive and place various phone calls and also reply and send various emails addressing or responding to various items.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitors production and test job flow to completion of daily/ monthly/ quarterly/yearly batch processing via our automated scheduling system, TWS.
Use various tools to monitor the Mainframe System like Netview, TSO, ROSCOE and TMON.
Monitor SLA documents and follow defined escalation processes in the event an SLA is at risk of being breached.
Investigates job abends and software problems; corrects problem or escalates issue to programming staff.
Completes and posts daily reports regarding completion times for SLA jobs and production job abends.
Create Tickets for Issues and Monitor and work Incident Tickets in Team Ticket Queues.
Quiesces production and test system when scheduled for any system-related maintenance.
Process various email requests for both internal and external customers.
Process Service Requests for Internal Customers.
Receive or place various phone calls out to internal and external customers.
Process change control requests submitted by the application programmers to move in code.
Assist in maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
Function as a team member on assigned projects.
Other duties as required.
Provides File and Job support for Mainframe/Raft, TWS, Open Systems, File Transfer/Sterling and ecommerce.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Associates degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, technical certifications or equivalent work experience.
Proficient / experience at the Production Control Technician I level.
Excellent communication skills including phone skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytic / problem solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Experience with Remote File / Data Transmission troubleshooting skills.
Experience with automated job scheduling systems, preferably IBM Tivoli (TWS).
Experience with tape / storage technologies.
Experience in a very structured application "workflow" environment.
Experience with multiple hardware and software technologies: ex., JES2, VTAM, Mainframe, File Transfer methods like Connect: Direct (NDM) or Sterling File Gateway, TSO/ISPF, Roscoe, monitoring tools, etc.
Experience working in a fast paced high volume work environment.
Dependable, flexibility to work weekends and holidays, area is staffed 24x7.
Work with minimal supervision.
Experience with Change Management.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Products.
Knowledge and experience with creating, updating and resolving tickets.
Familiar with Mainframe maintenance such as IPLs, and cycling systems.
Must be able to multitask.
Office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature change.
Sitting for extended periods of time. Extended use / viewing of computer keyboard / monitor.
