Job Description The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Programmer Analyst Client-Server Application Development in Florenceville-Bristol, NB.

Analyze business requirements and design, develop and test software programs to meet various business needs throughout the company, as well as quality control and the preparation of technical documents to support technical applications.

To be successful in this role, you will exceptionally complete the following (not an exhaustive list of responsibilities):

  • Conducting analysis and creating designs from business requirements

  • Creating detailed programming specifications for complex changes

  • Creating / debugging and functional testing of software

  • Creating and maintaining technical/user manual documents

  • QA reviews – Including the creation of Test Cases and Test Logs for IT staff and business users

  • Application, Integration and System wide testing using standard tools, such as Ranorex

  • Other duties related to technical business analysis and support as may be required

To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science

  • Minimum of four years’ experience in business analysis and software development

  • Previous experience in the transportation/logistics industry a strong asset

  • Experience in a minimum of 70 percent of the following technologies:

  • Website development using HTML/DHTML or Microsoft technologies

  • Middleware development and system integration using API/Web Services

  • Scripting languages such as JavaScript, VBScript, PHP etc.

  • Data modeling technique and practices

  • Applied Mathematics and its use in the field of programming

  • Geographical systems and digital maps

  • SQL programming skills

  • XML technologies including knowledge of XML Schema, namespaces, etc.

  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to contribute to a team environment both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to focus for extended periods of time

The working environment can include long periods of sitting at a desk and data imputing.
