Job Description The AVP of Sales Marketing will have an expertise in developing and implementing effective sales campaigns. The AVP, Sales Marketing should have excellent knowledge of the financial services industry, specifically with marketing to financial advisors along with end investors. The AVP, Sales Marketing will establish and maintain strong working relationships with product management and sales on the development of marketing programs, sales ideas, and theme-based campaigns.

Essential Functions:

  • Proficient in CRM client marketing and experience in implementing tailored marketing delivery campaigns across channels

  • Identify and segment target audiences across channels and develop specific marketing pieces, (e.g. thought leadership, targeted client email campaigns, ) aimed at these audiences to generate new or leverage existing platforms

  • Work with senior management to develop strategic marketing campaigns to positively define, enhance and promote the LPL

  • Work closely with sales organization to champion various products/strategies and provide training/coaching as needed.

  • Accountable for updating content of existing pieces and generating new content ideas for future pieces

  • Create client/prospect presentations across various products and channels

  • Understand company’s distribution channels and sales goals to prioritize workflow


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or related from an accredited institution

  • MBA or other graduate degree a plus

  • 7-10 years of experience in marketing in a similar function

  • Exceptional knowledge of sales, business, and marketing processes

  • Ability to create actionable sales tools including but not limited to Sales Decks, Sales Sheets, End-client materials

  • Strong knowledge of SalesForce CRM required

  • Understanding of integrated marketing communications strategy for lead generation and lead nurturing programs (offline advertising, search marketing, online advertising, social and mobile media, web development, direct marketing, email, etc.)

  • Curious nature, desire to understand why things are the way they are and how things connect

  • Strong desire to understand the marketplace, and a willingness for continued learning

  • Strong business reporting, project management and writing skills

  • Should be able to develop effective relationships and operate with senior executives

  • Effective leadership, time management and organizational skills

  • Strong business acumen, analytical, problem solving skills

  • Must be able to contribute to planning and strategic thinking

  • Exceptional written as well as verbal communication skills

  • High level of personal enthusiasm and self-motivation/direction

  • Work in a team environment that requires heavy integration across multiple functional groups
