Midwestern University Payroll Manager - AZ in Glendale, Arizona
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for performing payroll functions for the Glendale, Arizona campus and will work closely with the Payroll Manager on the Downers Grove, Illinois campus. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process two Bi-Weekly payroll runs totaling 1,150 employees accurately using Ultipro payroll system
- Review timecards, check total hours for accuracy and necessary approvals
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies
- Balance biweekly payroll runs for faculty/staff, students and adjuncts
- Troubleshoot issues and answer employee questions
- Review and input letter of agreements
- Process and review payroll garnishments/child support/liens and employment verifications
- Process and review year end W2’s
- Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required. 6-8 years of payroll processing experience is required. Previous experience with UltiPro required. Must be knowledgeable in tax laws that apply to the payroll process and be familiar with standard payroll concepts, practices, and procedures. Must be customer service oriented and self-motivated. Previous experience with multi-state payroll for Illinois and Arizona is preferred. Previous experience with high volume payroll processing strongly desired.
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of UltiPro payroll system.
