CoorsTek currently has an opportunity available for a talented AMP Operator I. This position will be located in Golden, CO.

Position Summary: Assists in the production of high quality ceramic powders using equipment that transforms raw materials into finished goods

Essential Functions:

  • Wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory

  • Under direct supervision, manually loads AMP ball mills in preparation of milling cycle

  • Examines and follows work orders to determine quantity, specifications and special instructions in the preparation of AMP material, reporting any deviation to lead or supervisor

  • Secures and maintains required safety certifications and properly follows all applicable requirements:

  • Forklift, electric and hand pallet jack

  • Lock out / Tag out

  • Confined space

  • Safely conveys material to and from storage by utilizing equipment, including scales, hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts, while following all required safety procedures

  • Performs all functions in the Wax Room under direct supervision as needed

  • Drains ball mills under direct supervision as needed

  • Proficient in the use of the manufacturing computer system to accurately record production data and other necessary transactions

Other Responsibilities:

  • Knows and follows all safety requirements, including emergency evacuation; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to lead or supervisor. All employees will be responsible for knowing where non-hazardous waste collection containers are located and for putting non-hazardous wastes in appropriate containers

  • Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas

  • Sets a positive example by maintaining a professional attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, internal and external customers; maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality, and is a productive team member and helps to meet established departmental and Company goals

  • Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees

  • Exhibits effective cooperation and communication skills to effectively work within a team environment

  • Effectively gives and receives feedback; willingly asks questions and seeks direction, as needed

  • Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned

  • May work any and all shifts/days as required

  • Maintains acceptable level of cleanliness in the work area

Education, Training, and Skill Recommendations/Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and minimum 3 months experience in manufacturing OR 1 year applicable experience

  • Proficient in working with diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds, exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills and great attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Extreme hot or cold conditions may exist

  • May be subjected to excessive amounts of dust
