CORRECTIONAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN I
Offender Operations/ Records Unit

The Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) is seeking a qualified individual to perform complex clerical work regarding inmate records.
Researches, complies, and verifies documentation required for offenders’ release
Arranges transportation for offenders’ release placement
Coordinates parole hearings
Processes notification forms and documentation between State agencies and related entities
Logs and records information in the Adult Information Management System (AIMS)
Manages files and filing
Answers phones and responds to inquiries
Drives on state business
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Laws (state and federal), and Agreements on Detainer procedures
Automated and manual filing systems
Records management and auditing procedures
Business English, including grammar, spelling and punctuation
Operations of office equipment including copier, fax and telephones
Computer usage and various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite
Written and verbal communication
Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships
Monitoring accuracy of offender records and documents
Strong attention to detail
Interpreting court documents
Work in a prison environment
Learn and use the Adult Information Management System (AIMS)
Learn and adhere department policies and procedures
Learn and adhere to State statues pertaining to release of information
Work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S):
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
- One year experience utilizing a computerized database, and performing data entry
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test*.
