Lockheed Martin Facility Operations Manager / Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas
The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for managing the design, planning, and execution of all maintenance operations, including production/ infrastructure machinery & equipment. The position is responsible for all plans, budgets and schedules including estimates on equipment, labor materials in support of proper maintenance associated with production/ infrastructure machinery, equipment, and systems. Plan and supervise Facilities Operations supervisors and at times the work of an assigned work group of employees performing certain functions and skills involved in the manufacturing and/or support of the company’s products within established schedule, quality, and cost parameters.
Plan, instruct and supervise multiple supervisors that manage units of hourly employees engaged in performing certain functions and skills essential to manufacture or support the manufacture, test and delivery of company products, assuring that established schedules, cost and performance levels are met. Prescribe the general method to be followed by employees in performance and flow of work to maintain established standards and meet or support production schedules within cost restraints. Coordinate, monitor and implement efforts in management planning and reporting such as cost reporting, man loading, load charts, work arounds and recovery schedules. Resolve difficulties encountered within the unit through coordination and interface with other functional organizations and by modifying methods and procedures to increase efficiency and meet new or changing conditions. Train employees in proper operating methods and procedures. Interpret company policy for employees, settle grievances and promote harmonious labor relations and unit morale. Responsible for the safety and workplace-health of assigned employees and enforcement of environmental, safety, and health regulations. Responsible for selection and proper classifications, assignments, transfer and other changes in status of assigned employees as appropriate. Maintain and/or understand a variety of automated records and reports relative to unit operations and personnel activities.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications - Requires specialized knowledge of the basic skills methods and procedures for the specific functional areas such as infrastructure, manufacturing, specialized labs, Central utility plant, master schedules for preventive maintenance of critical equipment and closed areas. - Requires ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, specifications, cost estimates and pertinent instructions. - Knowledge of company policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements and other applicable procedures. - Knowledge with procedures and requirements associated with work orders (WO's), government furnished equipment, preventive maintenance, scheduling, and prioritizing work. - Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite. - Requires an excellent level of quality in workmanship and the performance of special assignments as directed. - Ability to obtain a government issued security clearance.
