Job Summary: Responsible for performing diagnostic medical radiographs to both Inpatients and outpatients. professional/organizational and department standards. Must demonstrate competency in caring for all age specific groups.

Minimum Requirements: Associates degree required. Current certificate, as appropriate, in the State of Michigan from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Registry eligible. Demonstrated oral communication and organizational skills. BCLS certification within 6 months of employment.

Or, in lieu of the above be currently attending an accredited school for Radiology Technology or Registry eligible.

Maintain safe working environment for self, other employees, patients, visitors and medical staff in accordance with applicable standards and procedures relevant to the position’s job duties.

Position Accountabilities :

  1. Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance, safety.

  2. Prepare written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.

  3. Perform radiographic examinations. Enter information/documentation into Radiology Information System – RAD NET

  4. Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis.

  5. Process images including evaluating image for technical quality.

  6. Maintain X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; perform preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.

  7. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.

  8. Transport patients to radiographic room; prepare and maintain room.

  9. Request and order supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.

  10. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

  11. Attend meetings as required. Attends at least 50% of department meetings or reads and signs off on all minutes of meetings not attended.

  12. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
