Job Title: Cafeteria Assistant Manager FLSA Status: Hourly Reports To: Banquet and Catering Operations Manager

The Cafeteria Assistant Manager’s main responsibility is to assist in supporting and coordinating the cafeteria operations in the preparing and serving of food. This position will have a primary focus to support culinary positions and provide back-up coverage (food preparation and grill), additionally provide training to associates and maintaining the company’s standard for excellence, resulting in overall success.


  • Train workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures in absence of the Cafeteria Manager

  • Supervise and participate in the cafeteria in cleaning activities

  • Assist in resolving customer complaints regarding food service

  • Work in a team environment and lead by example in absence of the Cafeteria Manager

  • Maintain a professional appearance and possess excellent interpersonal skills

  • Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures

  • Maintain sense of urgency when on the service floor

  • Maintain clear and open communication between all associates for overall success

  • Follow Health and Safety practices at all times

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Cafeteria Manager as necessary

WORK SCHEDULE The Cafeteria Assistant Manager is a full-time, hourly position scheduled 1st shift. The Café is operated by The Marq located at Schneider National corporate office, Monday through Friday serving breakfast and lunch to Schneider associates. The Individual hired into this position must have availability to support The Marq’s summer seasonal needs, typically Friday and Saturday event days.
