Festival Foods Labor & Productivity Coordinator in Green Bay, Wisconsin
Description Job Title: Labor and Productivity Coordinator Reports To: Labor and Productivity Director
Individual contributor and “super-user” supporting all users of the Labor Management System at Festival Foods, as well as a main contact for questions and reporting relating to Festivals “Guest Scorecard” (SMG) program. This position is a key role in the planning of Festival Food’s labor efficiencies and strategic growth moving forward. Must effectively partner with department and store leaders to define the most logical and cost-effective solutions for Festival Food’s labor and guest relations model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain the accuracy and credibility of the Labor Management System and the Guest Scorecard program consistent with retail operations standard practices.
Maintain and update fixed and volume activities, productivity factors, and underlying operational assumptions in the Labor Management System:
Update fixed activities as needed
Update volume activites as needed
Conduct activity timings and observations
Maintain up-to-date department product mix ratios
Maintain and update seasonal departmental information
Ensure timely integration of departmental changes into store models
Maintain accurate operational modeling of daily Productivity Factors
Review analytical outputs such as percent productive, hours variances, and other metrics to identify productivity problems and opportunities.
Support retail store management teams in the utilization of the Labor Management System including labor planning, labor scheduling, daily follow-up, problem resolution, and opportunity identification.
Seek productivity improvements that benefit customers, employees, and the company.
Work directly with retail operations management and other corporate functions to achieve planned and expected operational results.
Participate in initiatives directed at improvements in labor management and guest satisfaction resulting in enhanced productivity and at store level.
Create and utilize analytical output reports to identify productivity/payroll problems and opportunities delivering recommendations to retail management.
Communicate opportunities, and progress to appropriate management and resources regarding the Labor Management System, operational productivity goals, and retail payroll results.
Develop, participate in, and execute action plans that address and resolve payroll/productivity opportunities.
Support a learning environment in the areas of the Labor Management System, the Guest Scorecard, labor scheduling, productivity, and payroll results.
Educate retail store management teams and corporate leadership in the concepts and effective utilization of the Labor Management System and Guest Scorecard results.
Draw conclusions and make suggestions pertaining to guest satisfactions using data collected through the SMG web portal.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervisory Relationships:
Directly reports to the Labor and Prodcutivity Director Organization Relationships:
Daily contact with all levels of store management to provide direct support and guidance.
Both in person and via phone/e-mail
Frequent contact with all levels of store management to gain information, work on joint projects and utilize expertise.
Secondary degree preferred; or equivalent work experience.
Retail background with demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of retail operations and labor scheduling.
Exceptional analytical skills.
Comfort with PC based applications (including the Labor Management System) with the ability to learn, understand, and utilize Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple and constantly changing priorities.
Strong teamwork skills with the desire to train and educate others within the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must possess the ability to sit/stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly. Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment.
Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment.
The position requires the employee to lift up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.
WORK SCHEDULE The Labor and Productivity Coordinator is a full time position. The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
