Senior Tax Manager opportunity with an established local firm desiring to groom their next Partner. The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burdens and costs of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. Senior Manager will recognize, communicate potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy and making top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation and resolution of questions from federal/state agencies. The Senior Tax Manager will be a critical member of the firm leadership team and actively participate in the marketing, networking and business development within an area of expertise and specialization while maintaining client relationships and acting as the primary contact for complex questions. Ensures both that (a) clients are aware of the rules of all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens and (b) client service team complies with all Firm policies and standards. Identifies when research is needed; clearly and concisely reports the analysis. Assist with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients current and future taxes. The Tax Senior Manager will develop an in-depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation and introduce new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm Personnel. The Tax Senior Manager will mentor Managers, schedule workload, develop Associates, and participate in employee performance reviews. Active CPA license required and at least 10 years of progressive Public Accounting experience.
