Performs clinical patient care testing in the Molecular Diagnostic section.

  • Remains knowledgeable and competent in applicable policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Troubleshoots and maintains laboratory equipment.

  • Follows section’s inventory control system to assure effective use of supplies and reagents.

  • Complies with safety guidelines and procedures and adheres to regulatory mandates.

Enhances productivity and laboratory functions by demonstrating dependability.

  • Adjusts, prioritizes, and organizes work to achieve maximum productivity to meet the developmental demands of the section.

  • Adheres to attendance policy, begins work as scheduled.

  • Works independently, utilizes resources available to maximize efficiency.

Assists in the development of laboratory personnel and tests, to enhance laboratory functions.

  • Adheres to CLIA and CAP Guidelines during development and validation of new assays or procedures; follows the Validation SOP.

  • Validates and evaluates new methodologies and tests with the help of Laboratory Supervisor and technical support.

  • Drafts procedures, ASR, Lab Bulletin, and follows the New Test Development Checklist

Manages all customer service interactions with diplomacy, actively facilitating resolutions to problems and addressing the needs of clients both internal and external.

Bachelor's degree in a related science field. One year clinical lab experience or Medical Technologist internship.
