Job Description: System Analyst / Engineer - Discrim (698) Individual will perform end-to-end analysis of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) supporting the systems engineering process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Individual will perform BMDS performance analyses utilizing large-scale complex BMDS modeling and simulation tools and utilize the results to support system engineering products for MDA. Individual will also perform development, updates, and benchmarking/anchoring of BMDS M&S tools, as necessary to support system analysis tasks. Individual will coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks. The individual will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense Agency Engineering Team – Industry (MET-I) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives. Individual will perform as a principal investigator. Individual will lead analysis teams. Individual will act as a mentor to less experienced personnel. Required Skills: Individual must have a technical background in numerical modeling and simulation and algorithm development, using a high level programming language such as MATLAB, Python, FORTRAN (MATLAB experience is necessary), or similar language environment, and any of the following: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, threats, discrimination, detection/tracking or Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.). Individual must possess good communication skills. Capable of working both independently and in a team environment. If candidate has SECRET clearance, must have an investigation date within the past 4 years 6 months, and candidate must be able to obtain a TS clearance. Candidate must have demonstrated experience leading analysis teams. Desired Skills: Demonstrated discrimination experience in SM-3 or EKV. Demonstrated discrimination experience with BMDS radar systems such as AN/TPY-2 or SBX. Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems. Experience in some or all of Ballistic missile defense system, Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threats. Demonstrated innovative problem solving.
