The Medical Dermatology team is expanding with the launch of new products and a healthy pipeline. The Strategic Communications Product Manager/Sr. Product Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of tactics to increase awareness and support of the entire US medical dermatology franchise.
This role reports to the Director, Strategic Communications and participates as a member of the Medical Dermatology Marketing Team to ensure alignment with US market plans. They will also work with key functional areas such Legal, Compliance, Clinical, Global, Medical Affairs and Sales in order to effectively execute key programs.
This includes building thought leader development, peer to peer influencing programs and managing US commercial advisory boards. Develops franchise presence at major meetings and orchestrates strategic alliances with major medical societies.
The Strategic Communications manager will work closely with the Medical Dermatology Sr. Product Managers and sales leaders to align tactical activities as appropriate. All activities must be conducted ensuring regulatory/legal requirements are met and maintained.
The successful candidate will show skills in working in a multi-faceted high-paced matrix environment with internal and external resources including multiple agency partners. This individual, must have demonstrated commercial acumen and analytical thinking. They should possess strengths in working in a team environment, strategic thinking and project management. Attention to detail and skills in successfully navigating and managing the Legal/Regulatory promotional review process are essential.
Main Areas of Responsibilities
Implement and optimize comprehensive key customer management initiative for Medical Dermatology to support US commercial and cross functional objectives. This involves market research, mapping exercises and working with colleagues and the scientific community to assess local, regional and national influencers. Identify and create a working relationship with up and coming customers – « rising stars »
Drive excellence in planning, coordination and logistics organization of our scientific presence at major U.S. meetings in order to maximize educational initiatives, brand awareness and share of voice.
Manage 3rd party agency to drive excellence in execution of our customer speaker bureau, including new developments in online platform and program delivery across our stakeholders. Work with regional sales managers and reps to identify and share best practice in program execution. Support roll-out of best in class training of dermatology speakers.
Support development and execution of cross portfolio advisory board activities
Contribute to development of strategies for both strategic communications and new customer identification and outreach, and brand lifecycle (including launch planning).
Participate in market research and integrate insights into tactical execution
Ensures alignment with franchise/portfolio strategy
Sets direction and expectations with vendors, agencies etc
Develops targeted promotional tactics with measurable outcomes and calls to action with associated ROI metrics
Ensures tactics are consistent with strategies and promotional principles
Ensures tactics are compliant and in line with legal guidelines
Analyzes competitive promotional activity and implements appropriate action
Manages expenses relative to budget
The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job (level will depend on experience):
5+ years sales and marketing experience in a healthcare/ pharmaceutical related field (10+ years for senior manager role)
Experience in managing key thought leaders and face to face interaction with customers
Pharmaceutical product launch experience preferred
Solid knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing areas including product positioning, marketing plan development and execution, strategic communications, product launch, co-pay cards and life-cycle management
Ability to travel 30% Preferred Skills/Qualifications
