St. Mary's Good Samaritan Advanced Clinical Registered Nurse in Janesville, Wisconsin


Develops, coordinates and implements the activities for new employee orientation, training programs, and continuing education for all nursing staff. Ensures the development of employees to the established competent level of performance. Accountable for managing the outcomes of health care delivery in the areas of clinical responsibility.

*Primary Responsibilities & Duties: *

Provides orientation to new employees and serves as a technical resource, role model and resource to preceptors in assigned areas.

Identifies and meets the professional development needs of the staff and performance expectations of the department.

Communicates to and collaborates with leaders in assigned areas regarding education and training needs of new hires.

Collaborates with leader to determine educational needs of staff on an ongoing basis.

Participates in annual performance evaluations of staff providing feedback of staff performance and identifying professional development needs

Develops, coordinates and presents education programs and opportunities. Communicates educational opportunities being provided by department, entity, system as well as outside the organization.

Assesses the educational needs and learning barriers of the designated individual, patient care unit or hospital. Summarizes program evaluations and reports finding to appropriate individuals.

Evaluates and revises curriculum based on research, best practice and/or professional standards. Acts as a consultant for educational issues and provides feedback regarding overall educational approach.

Maintains records as required by the Joint Commission and hospital administration.

Develops, plans, coordinates and implements in-service and continuing education programs & activities. Provides ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of assigned education programs.

Assures organization-wide Evidence Based Practices through systematic evaluation of current practice, interpretation and utilization of research findings, conducting research and/or collaborating in the conducting of research.

Develops interdisciplinary practices that are clinically effective and cost effective.

Provides leadership for quality improvement, new program development initiatives and develops and maintains clinical referral relationships.

Must possess excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Able to multi-task and possess excellent relationship building skills.

Must demonstrate ability to design and deliver training curriculum and evaluate effectiveness.

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.

Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office products including; Power Point, Outlook, Excel & Word

Education Requirement:

Selected candidate requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing working towards a Master’s Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree preferred.


Non-supervisory with 5-7 years of experience working as frontline health care worker.
