Primary Purpose:

Black & Veatch is a worldwide leader in the hydropower and hydraulic structures areas and is looking for an experienced and dynamic Leader. This position is a great opportunity for an individual to play a key role in the development and execution of our Global Hydro business. Can be located in Kansas City, MO (preferred) or Denver, CO.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Responsible for multiple international Hydro projects

•Responsible for the quality and execution of designs performed in an overseas production design center

•Lead management and technical aspects of assigned projects/ clients and function as the client contact on ongoing projects and prospects, coordinating the resolution of problems, reviewing progress, recommending alternatives and advising on project objectives

•Develop and pursue hydraulic structure and hydropower engineering and EPC work, develop clientele and partners in assigned areas, lead preparation of proposals and serve as senior hydropower civil engineer on resulting work

•Organize and manage engineering and EPC teams set up to work on hydraulic structures and hydropower projects

•Work closely with B&V's Managing Director - Global Hydro, Project Director - Global Hydro and coordinate with various Hydro professionals in other offices around the world.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 15 years related work experience.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

•15 + years of experience working on hydraulic structures and hydropower projects with experience in executing international Hydro projects

•Pumped Storage project experience desired

•Lead and guide remotely located designers

•Business development experience interfacing with clients

•Extensive knowledge of civil design standards

•Hydropower civil, hydrologic and hydraulic experience

•Basic familiarity with dams and tunnels

•Design experience on powerhouses, hydraulic structures and water conveyance systems

•Spanish knowledge a plus

•Bachelor or preferably masters degree
