Washington State DSHS Maintenance Mechanic 1 in Lakewood, Washington


We're looking for several Maintenance Mechanics to perform semi skilled and sub journey level trades work in several skilled fields such as carpentry, plumbing, light electrical work, fabrication, HVAC, mechanical work, fire alarm and sprinkler system testing, grounds work, mowing, trimming and clean up throughout Western State Hospital.

These are day shift positions (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Monday - Friday with Saturday and Sunday off.

As a Maintenance Mechanic you will independently perform installation, maintenance and repairs. You will perform semi skilled work in plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical equipment, life safety equipment, lighting, electrical and HVAC systems. You will also operate vehicles to transport supplies and use power tools as needed.


We want to hire somebody who has graduated from high school or equivalent and has four (4) years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade.

Possession of a valid motor vehicle license is required.
