Our busy family practice clinic has a current opening for a casual (as needed) Registered Nurse. Scheduled days will be Monday through Friday, day shift.

As a professional Registered Nurse, you will utilize a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, thus providing continuing health care to individuals, families and communities.

The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with policies and the strict observance of confidentiality. You will function as an integral member of the health team; perform nursing functions within the Standards of Practice for the profession. Additionally, you will provide assistance in emergencies as qualified.

This position will allow you to utilize your excellent patient care skills in a holistic approach to treating our patients. This opportunity will allow you to participate in care teams to provide nursing care, case management services and direction to the teams. You will also practice in a leadership role to provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of the structure of this model and monitoring patient outcomes.

This is a casual, hourly position. Hours will be scheduled between

8:00 and 5:00, and can be Monday through Friday.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Triage patients and facilitate efficient patient flow by calling/assisting patient into exam room, preparing for examination by performing selected nursing duties, vital signs, obtaining pertinent history and clinical assessment as appropriate.

  2. Follow infection control/safety standards per policy and utilize personal protective equipment as appropriate.

  3. Respond to/refer incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.

  4. Maintain/review patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Obtain tests and examination results.

  5. Participate in the teaching/orientation of students, new employees and temporary help.

  6. Follow written, verbal and standing orders for all tests, treatments, medication and procedures with appropriate documentation.

  7. Implement nursing measures for the comfort and well being of the patient, prepare patient and equipment and assist providers during treatments, examinations and minor surgical procedures.

  8. Recognize and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

  9. Prepare administer and document medication per provider. Instruct patient/family regarding medication and/or diagnosis. Perform medication dose calculations. Start, adjust, and maintain IV as ordered by provider.

  10. Document all interventions, patient/family responses, and medication dispensed/prescribed.

  11. Phone in/mail prescriptions as ordered by provider.

  12. Establish and maintain frequent and open communication with nursing manager, nursing staff, providers and all other departments.

Qualifications: Requirements for this position:

· You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

· You must have current State of Wisconsin, unrestricted licensure, or be eligible to obtain

· Current BLS is required

This is a casual, hourly Hours will be scheduled between

8:00 and 5:00, Monday through Friday.
