Summary of Responsibilities

  • Serves as a core member of the Medical Capabilities Leadership Team and significantly influences overall Medical Capabilities strategy. Key to continuously raising the bar to stay competitive.

  • Leads a team of directors organized by key market or market cluster which is focused on improving the customer experience and informing clinical practice.

  • Leads a team market/market cluster experts responsible for the alignment and utilization of medical capabilities, technology, standards, and medical and scientific information including publications and content across markets.

  • Leads a team responsible for representing market needs and feedback to the Medical Capabilities leadership team and broader Medical Organization regarding medical capabilities, technology, standards, and medical and scientific information including publications and content.

  • Partners closely with WW Field Medical Capabilities, Standards and Technology, all members of the WW Medical Publications & Scientific Content and the WW Medical Contact Center team to advance the efficient & timely dissemination of market specific medical information through field medical teams, contact center responses, and publications (translations, encores publications, abstracts, congress material).

  • Leads a team that provides targeted support for launches in markets through timely publications and content resources with a focus on the highest standard of HCP scientific exchange.

  • Leads a team responsible for creating a market/cluster based Medical Capabilities business plan to identify, plan for and address the needs of their assigned market/cluster.

  • Holds team accountable for executing against tailored market/cluster business plan.

  • Sets and executes a vision and strategy for the WW Medical Capabilities Markets team including how the team and book of work will evolve over time to add greater value to our customers, with focus and simplification.

  • Leads a team that consults markets/clusters to address challenges and find solutions related to capability, technology, standard and scientific information including publications and content.

  • Identifies specific market/cluster and overall Medical Capabilities Markets based metrics to measure and report out on progress meeting goal.

  • Represents Medical Capabilities at the market level. Works closely with the country and regional medical and commercial teams to ensure objectives are met.

  • Partners with agencies and contracted employees to ensure the optimal balance of full-time and outsourced resources.

  • Responsible for establishing work plan & building relationships across alliances necessary to successfully achieve objectives (ie. PFE, ONO).

  • Fosters collaborative relationships with academic & clinical experts, publishers, medical associations & other relevant stakeholder groups.

  • Identifies, hires, develops, engages and builds a high performing and diverse team to ensure both a robust talent pipeline and the achievement of business goals.

  • Reviews key deliverables of team members to ensure quality, prioritization & delivery accordingly to timelines and budget.


Experience Desired

  • PharmD, MD or PhD desired. MBA with relevant experience

  • 10 years of Pharmaceutical/Healthcare experience, at least 5 years of industry experience

  • Experience leading global, diverse teams across multiple cultures and geographies

  • Experience leading medical and scientific information or publication teams drug development and commercialization (investigational, registration, pre & post-launch and marketed)

  • Experience setting and executing against a vision and strategy with demonstrated results

  • Ability to work in a complex matrix environment and across cultures, with high volume of stakeholders and priorities under tight timelines

  • Experience executing through ambiguity and leading an organization successfully through change

  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and quality of work using strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional team

  • Experience participating in, facilitating and leading cross-functional matrix teams

  • Ability to influence and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions

  • Ability to build and maintain strong external stakeholder relationships

  • Experience identifying and planning for resource needs, delegating and holding direct and matrix reports accountable

Knowledge Desired

  • Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry

  • High level understanding of the needs and healthcare landscape of key markets

  • High level understanding of various cultures and the working norms of key markets

  • Understands how to work in an External Compliance/Transparency/Conflict of Interest/Highly Regulated work environment

  • Understands standards and practices associated with medical and scientific information

  • Deep understand of publication practices and the medical information external environment

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20 – 25% of time
