Job Purpose:

• Main objective is to support and coach Relationship Managers with regards to portfolio construction and portfolio reviews in order to provide superior investment advice to HNW Private Clients, thereby increasing client satisfaction and share of wallet of existing clients and successfully acquire new clients.

• Mission of a Portfolio Counselor (“PC”) is to provide holistic advice through the portfolio review process and instill the Portfolio Approach with RMs he is working along.

• PC ensures delivery of bank’s view in terms of investment strategy to RMs and clients, and offer advisory based on his market expertise, knowledge and experience.

Job Background/context:

• IPB EMEA and UK Consumer bank has been integrated to form one business to leverage synergies and drive efficiencies. The combined business serves over 100K clients with a total footing of $8.5 Billion, and revenue of over $ 120MM. The Investments AUM is over $ 2.6 Billion and the customer Liability book is over $ 5.6 Billion across multiple countries/ geographies.

• IPB caters to the off shore wealth management needs of onshore clients in various EMEA markets and offers products and services across banking products such as current account, savings, time deposits, FCY products and investment products such as mutual funds, structured notes, fixed income advisory, equity brokerage, credit products, dual currency placements, FXOW etc. Our key markets in EMEA are Russia, Greece, UAE and Bahrain.

• UK Consumer bank serves UK residents clients with multi currency banking and wealth management products and services. The business is supported by a small London based branch network with Operation and Customer Service based across multiple sites both in the UK and abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Results: Client Coverage / Portfolio Review

• Responsible for conducting portfolio reviews (in person or over the phone for International markets) for assigned HNWI – Citigold Private Clients on a periodic / semi-annual basis, ensuring a minimum of 25 unique client reviews per month

• Ensure reviews, updates and events translate to increase in client NPS and Share of Wallet (Net New Money) increase with Citi. Drive specific goals through a PC scorecard.

• Focus to increase client engagement/ activities across channels, products and services.

Drive Value for Clients: Client Engagement

• Provide Portfolio Counseling services to assigned CPC clients, potential CPC clients within the base and prospects, in partnership with sales, which includes portfolio review, asset allocation, alignment with key client preferences, risk appetite and past experience.

• Engage with clients to provide them Market updates, Citi Views, Portfolio actions and CPC proposition.

• Periodically travel to meet clients in the market and conduct client events

• Work collectively with the sales team to deliver higher client Net Promoter Score for the portfolio.

Champions Progress: Research Communication and Advisory

• Work with the Research Analyst in order to transmit bank’s view and recommendation to the Sales team and consistently deliver to clients

• Work with the Product Managers on giving them sales and client feedback to help build our product strategy aligned to client needs, market dynamics and business goals

• Actively participate (and timely attend) weekly product, market update meeting and huddles

• Actively identify advisory opportunities to the portfolio covered and share with sales teams to help them in advisory sales.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments, ideas and themes in the market and explore structures and funds that use them. It includes monitoring competitive offerings and developments on the advisory space.

Works as a Partner: Leadership and Stakeholder Management

• Sales Engagement: Build partnership and actively engage with the Sales team assigned, to build an Investment Culture within the business. Support the sales teams in their knowledge on markets, coach and train relationship managers on investment products, positioning and managing clients portfolios.

• Provide timely updates to sales teams on key market events, through participation in team meetings, conducting huddles and supporting them to deliver Advisory services to clients

• Work with the RMs/ TLs to create and implement a portfolio review plan with RMs for the assigned CPC clients

• Conduct and organise product trainings sessions, drive advisory sales, and work with the team of Portfolio Counsellors to ensure holistic offering for Private clients.

• Engage actively with Product Managers, Portfolio counsellors and FX counsellors, on product strategy on WM in business, Asset allocation, share clients and market view to help for product selection for advisory, and help Product managers develop products with help a client meet his investment objectives and help in product selection for advisory.

Regulatory, Risk Control and Governance

• Ensure engagement with clients is compliant to Citi internal policies (RDIP) and external regulatory policies – RDR, MIFID product registration requirements across jurisdictions and other policies from regulators – FCA, JFSC, FIMNA.

• Ensure all portfolio review and client engagement activities are compliant to TCF and Citi’s suitability processes, and ensure timely escalation of issues as they arise.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:

• Strong understanding of financial market and economies, market topics and investment products

• Strong product knowledge

• Extensive years of experience in client investment advice or investment research communication

• Experienced and comfortable in presenting to a variety of audiences, from small, focused groups to large conference venues, internal and external audiences

• Language – English. Fluent Russian, Greek or Arabic would be of additional benefit.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a quantitative, finance or economics discipline is a must. MBA/CFA or other finance related post-University degree is a plus

• Internal Products Training and Certification (will be required after joining)

• RDR qualified
