Astoria Bank Universal Banker in Long Island City, New York

Promote and sell Astoria Bank products. Attain monthly personal sales and revenue goals. Assist in overall attainment of branch sales, service and revenue goals. Analyze customer needs. Recommend products and services to best satisfy needs and close the sale. Cross-sell additional products and services to develop and strengthen customer relationships. Attain personal contact and appointment goals. Engage in all sales development activities (e.g. telemarketing and sales events). Maintain a book of business for follow-up sales opportunities and teleconsulting efforts. Effectively utilize contact management software to achieve sales and service objectives. Maintain Life Insurance license and meet minimum sales standards.
Deliver optimal customer service and provide effective problem resolution. Ensure customer satisfaction by adhering to all customer service standards. Respond to inquiries accurately and expediently referring to Supervisors if necessary. Provide all pertinent information. Process all account and client transactions expediently with accuracy and quality assurance. Ensure all documentation is completed appropriately and accurately. Perform research and follow-up activities to ensure appropriate customer problem resolution. Maintain current and detailed knowledge of all banking products and supporting services.
Uphold all security and compliance related procedures. Complete and submit a daily proof. Participate in end-of-day back-up work. Participate in cross-training for other operational responsibilities, if assigned. Attend and successfully complete all internal and external training programs.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures. Perform additional accountabilities as required.

- 3-5 years of bank floor sales experience preferred
- 1-2 years strong sales skills and customer service experience preferred
- Life Insurance license required
- Strong knowledge of banking products (checking, savings, demand deposits, annuities, insurance)
- Associate's degree in Business preferred
- Precise figure aptitude
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong time management skills
- Strong PC skills preferred
- Telemarketing

Salary: $30,000 - $45,000 Annually (Based on Experience)
